Fathers Day Bookmarks

I wanted to make bookmarks for Father's Day, but didn't get them done in time to mail them. I also wanted to enter them into the Shining the Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs, but my internet was not being nice last evening, grrr!!! Oh, well, I used the 'He Watches Me' set from ODBD, (my dad and I share a love of birds). My color combination is from the ColourQ challenge blog.  Below is the colour inspiration and both of the bookmarks that I made.

It wasn't an easy combo for me,  tell you. LOL

Butterfly Wishes

ETA: glad everyone liked the tag pocket & wanted to let you know it was
Sarah M. Parker's design from the Butterfly Kisses Card kit.
Sorry, it's a bit long today. It won't hurt my feelings if you don't have time to read it.

OK, so here is how this card came together:
-I received my Butterfly Kisses Card Kit by Sarah Martina Parker from The Craft's Meow last week. Whoo hoo!
-Last night I was sitting at my creative desk and, without looking, I grabbed a 6"x6" sheet of dp. It was the rust/white dp that the butterfly fairy is stamped on. I went ahead and stamped her in Really Rust. She isn't that orange IRL, really it's rust!
-The other layer of dp, (from the kit), looks like gingham to me and I know I saw a challenge on that, (see below).
-I decided I might as well use gingham ribbon too. I used Kraft card stock, (from the kit), random flowers, random natural twine, and Prima e. pearls. The tag is from a decoupage book, and tucked behind the image panel. It's removable.
-The image and sentiment are from, 'Butterfly Kisses', a set by Nina B. for The Crafts Meow. The set is included in the Butterfly Kisses Card Kit.

I'm entering Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challengeto use plaid or gingham on your creation. I always use ODBD stamps when I play the SLC, but it didn't work out that way this week. Maybe I'll get some time to make another one. What am I thinking, it's Capital Area Classic girls high school soccer tournament time!?!

I'm also able to play at the StampTV, Free For All Friday challenge. Wow, now that's a site I haven't played at in forrrrever! Cathy T. wants us to 'Get Krafty' and use some of that wonderful Kraft cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by, I know it's been a while between projects/postings.

Confirmation

This is the inside of the card we are sending to our nephew for his confirmation on May 1st.  Here is the link to the picture of the outside. I made the cards last year for my dd's confirmation class and received the unused ones back. Made it easier to come up with a card for Austin, I guess that's why I made the inside so decorative. I used the sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. The embossed sentiment is from the 'Confirmation' set by Our Daily Bread Designs. The cross is a dimensional sticker from Kurio, the white opal gems are from Prima.

Challenges: MMSC-sketch, ODBDSLC-no coloring, Bearly-Mine Challenges-inside out, Pile It On-use rubber.

I know I've seen this on many of your blogs already, but now I know the secret! This is where you go to 'Pile It On'! Where you find so many different challenges.  See the ice cream cone blinkie on my sidebar----------------->

God Love Her

My husband and daughter have been at soccer this afternoon. I stayed home with a head cold. So what is a girl to do? Craft of course!!! I was going through my blog updates when I came to the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining The Light challenge. I started working on a card right away, it just wasn't coming out, so I started singing at the top if my lungs. Now how fun is that? Kelly has the best play list, I listen to it over and over, so I can learn all the words. 'God Love Her' by Toby Keith happens to be playing as I title this post. Okay, here's the card:

The challenge is one I like,  sentiment and over-stamping. I've used a sentiment from my favorite set 'Grow in Grace', and the image is the single dove from 'Confirmation'. I used the Flourished Frame Cuttlebug folder for my embossed 'layer', I highlighted it with olive Metallic Rub-On and a manicure cotton tip.

Hope you enjoyed my card, thanks for stopping in!

Thank You God's Grace

This card uses 'Pumpkin in a Frame' from Stef H., who is also the owner of Glitterbabe's Art. The 'grace' sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs. The 'thank you' is from Papertrey Ink. I made this card for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge,  CREATE A THANK-YOU CARD. Card Stock and design paper is from SU. The lace is from McMahon Five Design. I colored with water color pencils, goo gone and a blending stump. Thanks for visiting!

Edited to Add:
I almost didn't add this to the ODBDSLC for this week. It was anything goes. I didn't make the connection, but a sweet friend reminded me.  Thanks  SABRINA!!!

Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge

I made a card for the ODBDSLC, and I've been absent for a long time. The challenge was to add sparkle. I had this oval left over from the confirmations cards I made in the spring. The verse, 2 Corinthians 13:14 is heat embossed in sterling silver, on sparkling  silver card stock. The base is Perfect Plum which is dry embossed with my CB. The light purple ribbon also sparkles, but you really can't tell in the pic. The color is a bit washed out, I didn't have a lot of time to get the perfect shot. This is one of my favorite Bible verses, so I was glad I had it embossed and ready to go. The stamp set is from Our Daily Bread Designs, 'Confirmation'. Thanks for visiting!

Mary Margaret, back to school

This is a 3 challenge card:

1. Mary Margaret-Teachers Pet is from Michelle Perkett Studio, for her 'anything goes' challenge. Isn't she adorable??

2. The sketch is from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, this week. I'm in between the 2 sketches as usual.

3. At the Play Date Cafe' Challenge, Julie chose this palette:
Isn't this a yummy photo?

Thanks for the visit!

Sparrow

I've made this card for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge.  The challenge was to stamp it and stamp it again. I used the ODBD set, 'He Watches Me', and stamped simply in chocolate chip ink on ivory cs. A one layer card, amazing that I like it. Thanks for the comments!

ODBDSLC23

Yea!!! I made my husband's anniversary card 1 month early. I used an Our Daily Bread Designs  image, and popped up the darker inked flower. The ODBD Shining the Light Challenge23 calls for one ribbon, one charm, and one other embelli other than a flower. My 'other' is a brad in the lower corner. Do you think this is a good husband card?
Thanks for your input!

Another Dad

This card is very similar to the one I already posted. Sometimes it just makes sense to do 2 cards at once. KWIM? I'll be entering it the same challenges, too. Thanks for visiting!

Dad

One of my Fathers Day cards, so far. This card is colored with pastels and a blender pen. Colors are blue, green, and yellow for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge, ODBDSLC17. The image stamp is from Special Fathers by Nina Brackett for GKD. I'm also entering this card in:

A Song...

Made this one for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, MMSC53. I turned the sketch on it's side to work for me. Talk about a party!!! Head on over to the MMSC blog, if you haven't already. Crazy, fun dance party last week. Can't wait to see what's up this week, it's their bloggiversary you know. The quote and the bird are images from the "He Watches Me" set by Kelley at Our Daily Bread Designs. Speaking of which the challenge this week is "Flowers" at ODBD Shining The Light, ODBDSLC13. As I usually do, I've combined the ODBDSLC with the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge, SSCC39. Head over and see what hostess, Grace N. has chosen as a verse and challenge of music. My music is the quote on my card and the musical notes from October Afternoon, clear stamps. Most people know them for the fabulous papers and accessories they produce! Thanks for visiting!

Fabulous!

I got my new Gina K Designs order yesterday, and couldn't wait to ink this up. She is from Asela Hopkins newest set, "sew pretty". Love this retro look! The colors are from the Color Throw Down #90, here. The sketch is from the StampTV sketch challenge, stvscvd09. Also submitting this one to Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges 36, Mothers Day. The Our Daily Bread Designs, Shining the Light Challenge 11 is also Mothers Day.

Froggie Birthday

Here's a card for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge, ODBDSLC10, "Recycle". I recycled an empty tissue box! Cute frog huh? The sketch is from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, MMSC49. I did the clean and simple version. I saw this frog and decided to make a CAS birthday card for my nephew. Have a great week everybody!

Plum Grace

This is my card based on the color challenge below from the Play Date Cafe, and the sketch challenge below from Chris at the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge.

I used rich razzelberry, pale plum, and very vanilla card stock from SU. The paper behind the scallop section is a hand made piece that has lavender stitching. I used my "Grow in Grace" stamp set from ODBD. I love this set!

{{{Well...I love all of the sets at ODBD, Kelley, you rock!}}}

I used the sheer ivory ribbon from my Holiday Cheer, StampTV kit from Gina K Designs. My favorite store on the internet!

Now, the little flower is from Grace at Th-ink-ing of you, she sent it, with other goodies, inside the beautiful box I won last month. Thanks Grace!

The little half pearl in the middle comes from Sabrina at SJBUTTERFLYDREAMS, I won her card last month too, and she sent goodies with it!

Back to my card...
I settled on Orchid Opulence for my ink on the outside, but on the inside I used pale plum for the background flowers.

Thanks for hanging in there with me. Sorry for the three posts today.

Easter GRACE

Great color combo! This is from the StampTV, stvcctg5, color challenge from Tina. I used Melanie Muenchinger's "a year of flowers", (tulips and ladybug), and Our Daily Bread Designs, "grow in grace", (God's riches at Christ's expense). The sketch is from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, MMSC47. I am also linking this to the Our Daily Bread Designs, ODBDSLC7, Easter challenge. And the Moxie Fab World "picking up the pieces" challenge. Wheew!!! Short post but lots of linking! Thanks for visiting!

A Rainbow Kind of Day

My card for today is pretty CAS actually. I colored the card a while ago, and had it in my stash. The two colors of green card stock were on my desk, waiting for some spring inspiration. I wanted to play the Our Daily Bread Shining the Light challenge for this week, click ODBDSLC6.

This week the challenge team is challenging you to Think Spring and New Life- Since this is the first day of Spring, create something for spring using Spring colors, sentiments and images portraying New Life. (perfect time for an Easter Creation being that we are new creatures in Christ).

My colors are spring and my new life is the grass. I guess you could say the "rainbow" is new life, as it only appears after the rain and sun are mixed!!!

My Hannah Stamps! image is colored with prismacolor and koh-i-noor pencils, using OMS, and a stump to blend. I used the grass and sentiment from "Hang in There", by Theresa Momber for Gina K Designs. I did a bit of masking, but I did want the tall grass over her boots. The sentiment is popped up on foam dots. I sponged light blue and light gray for the cloudy sky, which appears to be clearing up. I wanted my card to say, "momma said there'd be days like this...look for the rainbow!" I had to hand letter the inside. I had no rainbow, so I pulled out "Wall Flower" by Clear & Simple, which is exactly the width of my cs, and I used markers to color the stamp. The ribbon treatment is simply hole punches with the ribbon woven through. See the tiny daisies?

On a more personal note...
Spring is one of the worst times of year for me. Oh, I love it and feel so happy, but my brain has a hard time. I get more migraines in the spring, than the rest of the year combined. Well, except for the fall which is exactly like the spring. I don't usually get horrible pain, but many of my cognitive skills take a severe hit. Like, please don't ask me any questions that require more than a yes or no answer. Thanks for stopping by, I know I've been MIA for a week or so, but I have been trying to leave some love on your blogs.
SMILES & HUGS, Lori

Much better!

Wow, one tiny little change and I like this much better! I swore I wasn't going to post a card unless I loved it, didn't love the last post. Oh, well, I fixed it now.
