Grandma & Grandpa

My second entry into the Our Daily Bread Designs Let Your Light Shine challenge, week 2. I went with the same vintage look as last week. This is a great challenge for me, I'm getting so many photos scraped. This is a pic of my grandparents at Christmas time. No date on it though. I used ODBD 'Ornaments' stamp set with Spellbinders dies. I purchased them as a bundle last year, (love the ODBD bundles). I used 3 die sizes but only one stamp image, all are on dimensionals  I'll be making more tags and decorations with this gorgeous set again this year. 

I used lace, which is hard to see under my watermark, and several strips of border punched pieces so that I could add this to the Hotspot challenge. This also goes helps it to go with last weeks page. The beautiful lace is from McMahon Five Designs, (also used on my first entry page HERE).

See the doodling around the journal ornament? That qualifies for the Stampin' Sisters In Christ challenge.

I really hit the jackpot of challenges with this page didn't I? Now I just need to find a challenge looking for 'distressed' (I sponged with brown ink), or 'vintage', heehee.

On a personal note....
My dear daughter just called to tell me she was at the ocean, and I could hear the waves. She and her bestie had to buy matching sweatshirts, hers is red and Jacq's is white. Silly girls. If you don't know already, my 16 y/o went to CA with her best friend and their grandmother. They are staying with family for 3 weeks. We miss her around here, but she calls & texts often enough.

Grace Scrap Book Page

I've got another scrap book page to share tonight.  The idea for this came from the Our Daily Bread Designs, Let Your Light Shine Monthly Challenge, which is a sketch this week. I am really trying to get scrap book pages completed and shifting away from card making has been a challenge in itself. I used my favorite ODBD set 'Grow in Grace', the vertical verse, the flower, and pieces of the flower were fussy cut and punched. I really like how this came out. It's a picture of 'Uncle Frank and Aunt Myrtle'. I'm not exactly sure who they are but they sure look happy!!! The color inspiration came from the ColourQ 88 challenge:

Confirmation

This is the inside of the card we are sending to our nephew for his confirmation on May 1st.  Here is the link to the picture of the outside. I made the cards last year for my dd's confirmation class and received the unused ones back. Made it easier to come up with a card for Austin, I guess that's why I made the inside so decorative. I used the sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. The embossed sentiment is from the 'Confirmation' set by Our Daily Bread Designs. The cross is a dimensional sticker from Kurio, the white opal gems are from Prima.

The Sparrow

I made this CAS card with the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining The Light Challenge in mind. This weeks challenge.....

Make a card or project without any coloring. You may sponge a background or use colored ink to stamp an image but NO Coloring!!

God Love Her

My husband and daughter have been at soccer this afternoon. I stayed home with a head cold. So what is a girl to do? Craft of course!!! I was going through my blog updates when I came to the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining The Light challenge. I started working on a card right away, it just wasn't coming out, so I started singing at the top if my lungs. Now how fun is that? Kelly has the best play list, I listen to it over and over, so I can learn all the words. 'God Love Her' by Toby Keith happens to be playing as I title this post. Okay, here's the card:

The challenge is one I like,  sentiment and over-stamping. I've used a sentiment from my favorite set 'Grow in Grace', and the image is the single dove from 'Confirmation'. I used the Flourished Frame Cuttlebug folder for my embossed 'layer', I highlighted it with olive Metallic Rub-On and a manicure cotton tip.

Diamond Dust Ornament

One more Ornament photograph. I colored this one with pastels and then stamped Versa Mark over it and diamond dust glitter embossing powder, then eat it up and wah lah, done! Stamp and ornament nestie from Our Daily Bread designs. ETA-oops! I don't eat it up, I heat it up!!!

Pretty in pink and red

This is a deco or tag that I made before Christmas, and then gave away. I am home and have some time to post it now. It is colored in rose red and handsome hunter using watercolor wonder crayons from SU. The image is from Designed 2 Delight. The die cut for the ornament is from Our Daily Bread Designs. I had a blast with this image and with this ornament die cut. I gave several away at Christmas but have a few left to photograph and upload. Thanks for visiting! Layered

I used all five of the 'Heirloom Ornament' dies by Spellbinder on this. First I stamped the smaller ornament from Our Daily Bread Designs 'Ornaments' set, five times on blue card stock. I die cut each image and then added stickles and let them dry. I layered the shapes using foam tape to raise them up. Click on either link to get the Ornament bundle at ODBD. Woo hoo! I ordered the 'Ornaments' bundle from ODBD on Wednesday last week, Dec 1, and got my order today. I sat right down and, following Angie's tutorial, made this beauty. Very simple, it's heat embossed with detail gold embossing powder on whisper white cs and layered on Gina K Designs gold cs. Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge

I made a card for the ODBDSLC, and I've been absent for a long time. The challenge was to add sparkle. I had this oval left over from the confirmations cards I made in the spring. The verse, 2 Corinthians 13:14 is heat embossed in sterling silver, on sparkling  silver card stock. The base is Perfect Plum which is dry embossed with my CB. The light purple ribbon also sparkles, but you really can't tell in the pic. The color is a bit washed out, I didn't have a lot of time to get the perfect shot. This is one of my favorite Bible verses, so I was glad I had it embossed and ready to go. The stamp set is from Our Daily Bread Designs, 'Confirmation'. Thanks for visiting!

Sparrow

I've made this card for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge.  The challenge was to stamp it and stamp it again. I used the ODBD set, 'He Watches Me', and stamped simply in chocolate chip ink on ivory cs. A one layer card, amazing that I like it. Thanks for the comments!

ODBDSLC23

Yea!!! I made my husband's anniversary card 1 month early. I used an Our Daily Bread Designs  image, and popped up the darker inked flower. The ODBD Shining the Light Challenge23 calls for one ribbon, one charm, and one other embelli other than a flower. My 'other' is a brad in the lower corner. Do you think this is a good husband card?

My New Layers of Color!

I had no idea where I was going with this. I just wanted to use my new "Regal Wings" set. I received my first Layers of Color Art Stamps, order last week. I stamped and cut out each image, but still no Mojo. Today I finally had a chance to just sit down and force myself to create. The crown and wings are from the "Regal Wings" set from LOC. Fabulous, don't you think?? The sentiment is from the "Grow in Grace" set by Our Daily Bread Designs.

Made this one for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, MMSC53. I turned the sketch on it's side to work for me. Talk about a party!!! Head on over to the MMSC blog, if you haven't already. Tone on Tone

Introducing. . .lilac on amethyst on lilac on amethyst on lilac. . .
This is how my tone on tone card came out. I used a clear gel pen to outline the lilac butterfly at the top middle and the amethyst one under the sentiment. The central panel is raised. The sketch is from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, MMSS51. The tone on tone idea is from Gina K's personal challenge, INSPIRE21. The Butterfly is from Gina's "Eclectic Summer", STV Kit. The sentiment is also a favorite from "Grow in Grace" by Kelley at Our Daily Bread Designs.

Plum Grace

This is my card based on the color challenge below from the Play Date Cafe, and the sketch challenge below from Chris at the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge.

I used rich razzelberry, pale plum, and very vanilla card stock from SU. The paper behind the scallop section is a hand made piece that has lavender stitching. I used my "Grow in Grace" stamp set from ODBD. I love this set!

I used the sheer ivory ribbon from my Holiday Cheer, StampTV kit from Gina K Designs. My favorite store on the internet!

The little half pearl in the middle comes from Sabrina at SJBUTTERFLYDREAMS, I won her card last month too, and she sent goodies with it!

Back to my card...
I settled on Orchid Opulence for my ink on the outside, but on the inside I used pale plum for the background flowers.

Clean, but not Simple

I was asked to make the invitations for my DD confirmation class. After trying several different designs, I finally settled on this. I love the "Confirmation" set by Our Daily Bread Designs
so I was delighted to be asked! I wanted to use the cross image but I guess I'll have to work that into individual cards for the girls.

Here are the dets, assembly line style:

-Cut the bases using glossy white CS
-Scored them
-Cut the glossy white CS for the embossed layer
-Used the "Textile" Cuttlebug folder to emboss them
-I cut the silver CS with my Petite Ovals Nestabilities, then reloaded the Cuttlebug plates and embossed the ovals-one at a time
-Rub oval with anti-static pouch, ink stamp with clear VersaMark, dip into silver embossing powder (I dump my powder into a lidded sandwich size square disposable container), and heat it up-one at a time

I'll show you another pic if I do anything special on the inside.

China Teapot Inspiration

This is for the Our Daily Bread Designs, 2nd Anniversary celebration, day 2. I was inspired by the white and purple tea set in the bottom row. Both the colors and violets inspired me.

I used Gina K Designs Pure Luxury card stock in Lovely Lavender. Check out all of the spectacular colors! I used my Bow Easy, which I also purchased at GKD.

The Offray ribbon, and velum teapot are from my LCS. The rest of the cs, dp, and ink are from Stampin' Up.

Wow, one tiny little change and I like this much better! I swore I wasn't going to post a card unless I loved it, didn't love the last post. Oh, well, I fixed it now.
