Wildflower Wall Hanging

I tired something a little different today. Stampin' Sisters in Christ asked us to use something we treasured, and..... The very lovely Linda Lucas is our challenge hostess this week.

Scripture: Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
You will want to pop over to the SSIC challenge blog and read what Linda writes. She always touches my heart and soul. I know you will enjoy her words, you'll smile, you'll 'think', you'll feel.
Okay on to my card, umm, project....
I would say that I treasure this image that I colored a while back. I've tried to use it several times, but just kept hanging on to it. The yarn has also been in my stash for years! The image and sentiment are from Deedee's Digis and colored with Koh-i-noor pure color pencils. I'm not sure who I will give it to, but for now it's on my wall in my studio. Hee, hee.

ETA: thanks for the new SSIC challenge blinky, Kris! I love it!

In His Time

Here is my 'In His Time' card. Find the digi image with sentiment here at Deedee's Digi's It's only $1.00! Isn't she just the cutest little caterpillar? It's Fellowship week once again at Crafting with Deedee's Digi's, that time of the month when we do something special for someone else while getting to enjoy crafting, too! Our challenge to you this week is to make and donate a card to a charity or church ministry that collects cards for those in need. I'll be donating several cards to my daughter's church.
I am also entering this card into the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge 74 - Psalm 23 use the colors blue (still waters) and green (green pastures) as the predominate colors in your card/project.

Thanks for visiting!
ps-I have so very exciting news that I can hardly contain!!!!

Pink Ribbon/Pink Rose

This is my first card using the NEW Cottage Rose Cling Stamp from Layers of Color Art Stamps. I won this while blog hopping during the new release of Red Rubber at LOC. Check out the other amazing stamps that were released. This is such a gorgeous image, don't you agree??? I colored with regular Stampin' Write markers.

I'm entering this into the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge by using the pink ribbon. I also used pink, self-adhesive pearls from McMahon Five Designs. Check them out too, fabulous prices.

This card is going to my boss/principal who is a breast cancer survivor.

Sew Berry Kind

This is my entry into the 'Sew Berry Kind Add Sewing to Your Card', challenge at Double Delight. You can find this cute little guy at Designed2Delight Digi Stamps.
Read about the Free Stamp of the Month Artist's Challenge  to find out how you can participate in the Progressive challenge. It's a lot of fun!

I'm also entering this into the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge to use sewing on your card.

A Little Apology

This is Tucker from The Character Cafe'. He's coming around with a half smile, to say I'm Sorry. I made this simple little 3x3 card for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge. The idea was to make a card of apology or to urge someone to put the past behind them. I don't have any 'sorry' cards, so I figured this would be a good one to have on hand. Thanks for visiting!

Another Birdie Thanks

Okay, okay, I know I need to move on, and use other images by Deedee, and I will, but I just love this little birdie for thank yous. This is a little 3x3 note card. This is as vintage as I can get right now, it's just not my style! The challenge at Crafting with Deedee's Digi's is 'A Very Vintage Happy Monday'. I wasn't sure I could do it, so I went with a small project. I thought it was pretty good for a very non-vintage kind of girl. I love the style, I just can't create it.  Now, the colors for this vintage card are inspired by this photo and destination at the PlayDateCafe'Challenge:

The Play Date Cafe welcomes you to
the next stop on our tour around the world...
Positano, Italy.
Julie Ranae is your host this week and here
are her thoughts on this destination...

"I first became aware of this magnificent city while
watching one of my favorite movies
'Under the Tuscan Sun'.
I watch this movie quite often while I am
creating because I think the scenery is so inspiring.
I definitely have this place on my 'dream' list of
places to travel.  I hope you enjoy the
color palette taken from this fabulous hillside."
Thanks for visiting!

ETA: Opps! I forgot to link this to the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge, this morning!

Home-Sweet-Home

Blogger is not working correctly, but let's hope I can get this posted. I finished this card today for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #48. Based on this Scripture: Psalm 127:1a "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it", Grace would like us to make a project that shows something that is built from plans. For mine, a house.

The colors are based on the picture above for The Shabby Tea Room Challenge #19

The image is "cottage" by JanieB, who is an artist that shares her digital images for free. I found her at the Crafter's Digital Art Center in the 'Digital Image Sharing' group. A group of Non-CDAC Group Artists.

Sweet Goldielocks

I started my card following the above sketch, but it seemed to have a mind of it's own. As you can see below, it's similar, with the same elements at least. Card Patterns Sketch blog, HERE.

I used another freebie from CDAC, "Goldielocks" by Michelle Perkett Studio. The challenge at CDAC is HERE.

Another Dad

This card is very similar to the one I already posted. Sometimes it just makes sense to do 2 cards at once. KWIM? I'll be entering it the same challenges, too. Thanks for visiting!

Dad

One of my Fathers Day cards, so far. This card is colored with pastels and a blender pen. Colors are blue, green, and yellow for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge, ODBDSLC17. The image stamp is from Special Fathers by Nina Brackett for GKD. I'm also entering this card in:

A Song...

Made this one for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, MMSC53. I turned the sketch on it's side to work for me. Talk about a party!!! Head on over to the MMSC blog, if you haven't already. Crazy, fun dance party last week. Can't wait to see what's up this week, it's their bloggiversary you know. The quote and the bird are images from the "He Watches Me" set by Kelley at Our Daily Bread Designs. Speaking of which the challenge this week is "Flowers" at ODBD Shining The Light, ODBDSLC13. As I usually do, I've combined the ODBDSLC with the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge, SSCC39. Head over and see what hostess, Grace N. has chosen as a verse and challenge of music. My music is the quote on my card and the musical notes from October Afternoon, clear stamps. Most people know them for the fabulous papers and accessories they produce! Thanks for visiting!

Sew, what's new?

I just love this new set by Asela Hopkins!!! This card uses the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge 37 to "sew", faux or real. I started with faux in mind as you can see by the piercing on the left hand strip. Then I decided to actually sew a little. The sketch is from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 52. Click on the one anniversary candy in my sidebar, they are celebrating all month! Congratulations Priscilla and DT! The colors come from the StampTV color challenge, stvcctg10. Tina picked the new Pure Luxury Card Stock (at GKD), Turquoise Sea and Innocent Pink. I used the Innocent Pink, but don't have the Turquoise Sea yet so I used Stampin' Up's Tempting Turquoise.

I used Prismacolor pencils, Goo Gone, and a blending stump to color the sewing machine. That's it I think, Thank you all so much for visiting and commenting.

Fabulous!

I got my new Gina K Designs order yesterday, and couldn't wait to ink this up. She is from Asela Hopkins newest set, "sew pretty". Love this retro look! The colors are from the Color Throw Down #90, here. The sketch is from the StampTV sketch challenge, stvscvd09. Also submitting this one to Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges 36, Mothers Day. The Our Daily Bread Designs, Shining the Light Challenge 11 is also Mothers Day.

Fan-tastic!

This Monday afternoon post is a card for 3, yes, 3 challenges. I didn't even plan it that way! I started this one for the Play Date Cafe', PDCC25. Julie, our regular hostess has been ill, so Sarah stepped in. Here is what Sarah had to say:

But you know what happens when you let your British design team
colleague take charge?
She spells 'colour' ...hmm, can I say 'correctly?',
or shall I be diplomatic
and say 'the non-American way' ;)

It's a Colour Splash Challenge!

'Colour Splash' is simply black & white with a 'little bit' of colour.
And this week's colour is
orange

I wanted to use one of Rupa Shevvde's "Many Happy Re-turns", images. {find the set here, at Gina K Designs} Well, I needed a sketch, so I went over to Gina K's StampTV. I found Vicki's sketch challenge, stvscvd07, so I went with that. I remembered that the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge, SSCC35, was something with flowers, so I made sure I added flowers. Read the scripture and thoughts from Candace.

The back and bottom of my photo are actually the same color, and my fan is more orange than the yellow it appears to be. HUH???

Blue Butterfly Love

Quick post...This blue butterfly is for several challenges.

The Playdate Cafe Challenge-PDCC23 based on this picture

The StampTV sketch challenge-STVSCVD05

The Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge-SSCC33 based on this scripture, chosen by Kathy Winters

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

The challenge is to make a card/layout/project with the word LOVE on it, or something that symbolizes LOVE to you.

I used Gina K Designs Pure Luxury Card Stock "Ocean Mist", from the Spring Assortment. This picture does not do the color justice! The darker blue is Brilliant Blue from Stampin' Up, doesn't look very brilliant in this photo, does it? The butterfly and sentiment are from the GKD, Eclectic Summer StampTv Kit, currently available as separate sets.

I colored the butterfly with Koh-I-Noor, pure color pencils, Prismacolor watercolor pencils, Goo Gone, and a blending stump. Yep, Goo Gone works great, I think I like it better than Mona Lisa OMS! I added Icicle Stickles to parts of the wings.

Welcome Home

This one is another paper tole. I stamped each house 3x's, popped up the same color house, then popped just the roof and door of other color. For the lamp I stamped 2x's and popped up the shade.

I had the sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, MMSC47, and the color selection from the Color Throwdown, CTD86. Yoyo Yellow, Garden Green, and Soft Suede. I had no other idea where this was going. I wanted to use the lamp from this stamp set, so I knew that Psalm 119:105 would be the perfect sentiment, (from Guiding Light by Rupa Shevde for GKD). I finished the inside, but didn't stamp anything yet. The paper tole also qualifies this card for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge, SSCC32.

From one very sweet design team member, Kristine Breach:

SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

CHALLENGE: and so my challenge is for you to "mount up" parts of your image, aka. Paper Tole technique. This is not simply paper piecing an image, but rather restamping your image 2 or more times and cutting out parts of that image to pop it up and make it 3-dimensional. There are good tutorials here and here and here.

The stamps that I used come from Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker, "Victoria's Street". Pretty cute, huh? A-N-D they are clear stamps made in the U S A !!! Thanks Nikki! I won these stamps from the Five(x8+3) Moxie Fab World give-a-way.

Sterling Joy

My Sterling Joy card is made following Chris' sketch for ODBDSLC5 at the Our Daily Bread Designs, blog. I usually don't like circles on cards, but this sketch worked out beautifully for me.

This is also for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge, SSCC29. The focus for this challenge is as follows...
Isaiah 12:6 "Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you."

CHALLENGE

Make a card or project that shows or expresses JOY or joyfulness.
Thanks, Peggysue! Please visit the SSCC blog to read her thoughts, they are so true.

what I used:
card stock: basic black, whisper white, sterling silver (su)
dp: love letters (little yellow bicycle)
ink: versaMark
stamp sets: Always (su)
other: sterling silver embossing powder, lace edge punch(su) large scalloped circle punch (marvy-blog candy I won from a friend)

Butterfly Bunny

I found my mojo! I used Priscilla's sketch at the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. I could also enter this for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge for this week, too. I have been praying for my mojo to come back, it does so easily wander off. This is the SSCC28 from Pamela Young.

Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

You have free reign of what you want to do this week. But here's the deal: I want you to actively do this as an act of worship to our God. Before starting, pray. Thank God for your gift. While working, feel free to pray more, or perhaps sing out to Him. Put your focus on Him and remember that it is He who gave you your gift (however good or bad you think you are at this) and remember that it makes Him happy to see you at work. Do this challenge, as if you were doing it for Christ himself!

Card Stock: innocent pink, Spring Assortment pure luxury (Gina K Designs), whisper white, almost amethyste (SU)
DP: pink velum
Ink: pretty in pink, almost amethyst sage shadow (SU)
Stamp Sets: chocolate bunny (SU)
Other: cutttlebug and bloom dots embossing folder, butterfly stickers, sponge dauber (LCS), oval, and oval scallops nesties (GKD)

God's Love

I inked up my new, Our Daily Bread Designs, stamp set, called Confirmation. I was so impressed at how quickly I received my order! I love the deep etched rubber, how the stamps come attached to an acrylic sheet, and just everything! I am very happy with this company!

Anyway...on to my card. I am using the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge for this week. Find it here, MMSC41. I went with the "mix of the two sketches". I will also enter this as my second card at the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge, SSCC26, "showing someone that God loves them".
I embossed the sentiment. I used a sponge dauber to ink up the paper flowers with regal rose and sage shadow inks.

THE INSIDE

Here is what I used:
CS: sage shadow, pretty in pink, regal rose, confetti white (SU)
DP: prints designer in pretty in pink (SU)
Ink:VersaMark (LCS)

Card Candy #1 Love & Encouragement

This was so much fun to create! It was a bit stressful when I was trying to make a card candy set, "For the Love of a Teen", using Melanie's Little Tee's set. I just couldn't make it work, but I will. Stay tuned for that in the future! Haha I have always wanted to make card candy but never got to it, so thank you Carolina, for the challenge. Here is a tip: make sure your candy doesn't go all the way to the top of your backer/bag. I had a heck of a time getting that topper to stay on! I had a rather large cello bag to start, so I certainly could have folded it over. Live & Learn, right? Here is the link to the StampTV, anything but a card challenge, stvabccb11. This will also qualify for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge, where Ceal Prichett challenges you to:
make a card or project for someone you love letting them know how much God loves them.

I John 4: 10 "This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins."
This was Ceal's scripture choice for Valentine's day to remind us that God's love is the strongest LOVE of all. Play along here, SSCC#26.

Using a paper clip from my desk also satisfies the Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential challenge. SSHP Around the House, use a household item. Play it here!

card stock, ink from Stampin' Up: barely banana, perfect plum, pale plum, whisper white, basic black
stamp sets: say it with flowers, a year of flowers from Gina K Designs
other: paper clip, rhinestones, clear lacquer, ribbons, white gel pen, punches, nestabillities, cuttlebug from SU, GKD and local craft store
