Rooster & Chick

The set that this image comes from is called 'Thanks Dad', found at Deedee's Digi's.
The sketch is from the Crafting With Deedee's Digi's Challenge Blog.
The color selection is from the Color ThrowDown Challenge.
The 'Treat Yourself' sentiment is from an old SU set.
The button is clear and I adhered a punched circle of Marina Mist cs.
I like how this card came out, simple.

I've been working on a tissue box cover and it is not going the greatest, hope to finish it tomorrow.

Thanks for the visit, we are off to a soccer game, first one for the CASL Girls Fall season.

Unlikely Place to find a Sketch

Not really an unlikely place, but I combined the stamp set title and Crafting With Deedee's Digi's challenge. The challenge is to follow a sketch and the stamp I used is 'Unlikely Places', drawn by Deedee at Deedee's Digis.

Now get over to Deedee's and check out the special challenge before tomorrow at midnight! Sorry for the last minute head's up!

I'm also entering this card into the Color Throwdown challenge.

A Joyful Ride

This tag is for the challenge at There's Magic In The Air, which is to use this image from Paper CupCakes, and get out your punches. I used a corner rounder, 2 circle, and flower punches. I traced a large tag, cut it out, and adhered the image panel. The color medium is markers. A ribbon was punched and a brad added to the top of the tag. The colors are based on The Color Throwdown challenge this week. Rose Red-Pretty In Pink-So Saffron-Pear Pizazz (Gable Green used)

Just Ducky!

Isn't she a cutie? I thought she would make anyone feel better, especially a little one. The main image is from Paper CupCakes. The challenge is issued by DT member, Dru, and she wants us to use this image and add sewing to the card. Find the challenge HERE, at There's Magic In The Air. I don't use the sewing machine, but I do embroidery and mending. I creatively sewed buttons to metal thingies. The color challenge is from The Color ThrowDown #105:
I know my EE looks black, oh well, we all know how photo's go. The thread I used in my embelli's is actually  suede or faux. The sketch is from Melanie, DT for TMITA w/ PCC. She has it HERE on her blog for the PCC Tea Party Blog Hop, (see my sidebar). I guess that's it, thanks for visiting~Lori

Double Yikes!

Hello all! I like how this card turned out, what do you think? Here's the story of how it came to be.

-First, the image: this is from Karen's Doodles.
-Second, the sketch: it is from the Crafter's Digital Art Center Sketch Challenge, sponsored by Karen's Doodles.
-Third, the colors: these are the colors from the ColorThrowDown this week, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, (Summer Sun), and Old Olive.
-Fourth, the theme: Shelly's Images Terrifically Thrilling Thursday theme is, 'This Place is a ZOO!'. The twist being that you use more than one, animal, man or child on your project. This got me thinking of Karen's hanging cat image, so I decided to hang 2 of them.

Normally, I only use the images of the artist posing the challenge, but the cat worked out so nicely.

Duckie

Hi, this is my happy little duckie, with a get well wish! The *Wink *Wink Ink challenge this month was to make your own embellishment.  You can find the challenge here, at  Crafter's Digital Art Center.  My hand made embelli is the flower; stamped, punched with a scallop, and a giant eyelet in the middle. I also popped up the embelli, duck panel, and sentiment. This sketch is another for MMSC64, just having so much fun with it!!!  I used the Color Throwdown challenge, Ridinghood Red, River Rock, and Certainly Celery. I didn't think I would like it, but it turned out I do!

A Free Digi!

Hey, everyone, you have got to go check this community out: Crafter's Digital Art Center. If you haven't see this or heard this yet, it is a community started by Priscilla from PriscillaStyles Store and the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge blog. The Kick Off has started with many stores and artists giving out a free digi to try. There are great tutorials, in case you don't know what your doing, very helpful. Go check it out, sign up, get your freebies and enter!

I love honey bees and bumble bees in the summer. This lovely honey bee comes from "Bee Tile", a free digi from Sugar Creek Hollow, also found at the above mentioned CDAC. I will be doing something with the entire stamped image, coming up.

I am also entering this in the:
-Color Throw Down-CTD97 *certainly celery, cameo coral, and not quite navy*
-Shabby Tea Room-#14 *summer fun*

Remember?

Finally, a card from me! I played the Color Throwdown #88 and the Card Patterns Sketch 60, today. The stamp set is one that I won in the Five (x8+3), Moxie Fab World contest. It's from October Afternoon, "Thrift Shop". Don't you just love the pattern image? I used Koh-I-Noor colored pencils for the so saffron and tangerine tango colors in the main image. IRL, the fiber looks just like the basic gray circle and ink that I used. The so saffron flower is one I received from my friend Sabrina, (they sure work for me {grins}). The center rhinestone is tangerine tango colored. Thanks for looking and your comments!!!

Welcome Home

This one is another paper tole. I stamped each house 3x's, popped up the same color house, then popped just the roof and door of other color. For the lamp I stamped 2x's and popped up the shade.

I had the sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge, MMSC47, and the color selection from the Color Throwdown, CTD86. Yoyo Yellow, Garden Green, and Soft Suede. I had no other idea where this was going. I wanted to use the lamp from this stamp set, so I knew that Psalm 119:105 would be the perfect sentiment, (from Guiding Light by Rupa Shevde for GKD). I finished the inside, but didn't stamp anything yet. The paper tole also qualifies this card for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge, SSCC32.

From one very sweet design team member, Kristine Breach:

SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

CHALLENGE: and so my challenge is for you to "mount up" parts of your image, aka. Paper Tole technique. This is not simply paper piecing an image, but rather restamping your image 2 or more times and cutting out parts of that image to pop it up and make it 3-dimensional. There are good tutorials here and here and here.

The stamps that I used come from Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker, "Victoria's Street". Pretty cute, huh? A-N-D they are clear stamps made in the U S A !!! Thanks Nikki! I won these stamps from the Five(x8+3) Moxie Fab World give-a-way.

ODBD 2nd Anniversary-Cotton-ODBD2AC1

This is my entry for the ODBD 2nd Anniversary celebration! Here is all of the exciting information:

Since we are celebrating the Anniversary of Our Daily Bread Designs, we will be focusing on gifts for Anniversaries. Cotton is the traditional gift for the second anniversary. Today's challenge will be to use Cotton in some way…. stamp on cotton, use cotton ribbon, make a cotton flower… get creative.
Be sure to visit the ODBD Blog here, to find out all of the information.

I used Our Daily Bread Designs stamp set "Confirmation". I first stamped the dove in white ink then I stamped a second dove onto white card stock with basic gray ink. I bent the doves wings and tail a bit to give it some dimension, and I added cotton yarn as the olive branch. I'm late getting this posted as I could not find my lace. Found it, as you can see. The frame is from Cornish Heritage Farms, Botanical Bliss-from my Moxie Fab World, winnings.

Also entering:
MMSC44 (sketch) and Color Throwdown83 (marigold morning-I had crushed curry, wild wasabi, melon mambo, bermuda bay)

Two Butterflies

The, "Two Butterflies" are stamped from the Gina K Designs, Eclectic Summer set.
The sketch is from the STV sketch challenge from Jennie. Play along here, STVSCJH11.

The colors come from the Color Throwdown challenge. They are Blush Blossom, Sage Shadow, and Riding Hood Red, play here, CTD#79.

One more challenge. The theme of my card comes from Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenges. Randi asks that we have two of something, anything, on our cards. Read and play the SSCC#25 challenge here. To reflect the scripture I should tell you that my butterflies are husband and wife. It's a card for a friend to give to his wife. I know she'll like it!

I colored the butterflies with stampin' up markers. I daubed su pastels, blush blossom and sage shadow, around them. I couldn't get a pic of the inside. That's it for now, thanks for the "love"!!

ETA: The top half of the card is the shade of sage shadow. It's a dp from Basic Gray-Archaic.

Elegant Rose

What's going on?!? Two posts/cards from me yesterday and two today? Yep, it was a productive weekend here in the chilly north country. I love this color combination from the Color Throwdown challenge #77. It's Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze, and Certainly Celery. Check out the challenge and the design team samples here, Color Throwdown #77.

Perfect combo, because I wanted to do Gina's inspiration challenge, INSPIRE8-Check Please!, over on StampTV. The idea is to use a check pattern somewhere on your project, in some form or another. I chose the specialized dp from Stampin'Up's Summer Picnic, which just happens to be baja blue.

On to the sketch now. I have missed the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge :-( The sketches just haven't been working for me lately. What came out for me this week is somewhere between the regular sketch and the new, "less", sketch. Check them out here at MMSC38.

On the inside: I used a dauber sponge and pastels. It's not blended well, but it is much better irl! Really it is! LOL

The outside details: I wasn't sure if I would use the Marvy Uchida large circle scallop punch, that I won from Linda Payne earlier this fall, or not. I'm starting to use nesties, but I do love my punches. Well I needed this today so I broke it open and I love it! Now I just have to find somewhere to put it. ~grins~ I punched a 3/4" circle from the dp and adhered it to a clear button, I used a chipboard corner to trace and cut the corner pieces, the gems are baja blue in color, love when that works out. I colored the rose with pastels and a blender pen and had no idea if I was doing it right. I also daubed certainly celery pastels around the edges of the scallop.

Wheew...that was incredibly long, thanks for hanging in there! Let me know what you think, o-kay? Hugs to you!!!
