I started with the color idea from the PlayDateCafeChallenge-barn red, slate blue, and gray. Unfortunately the collection was closed this morning. I really need to pay closer attention to those deadlines, shesh. Their idea of slate was darker than mine. Then I went with Carly's sketch from SketchesByCarly. She is quite an artist, check out her site to see what you get, just for playing! Many of you already know her talented mom Kris Breach at Ink Something. So then I had to find a picture and luckily I had gone through some pictures in the morning. My darling brother must be about 4 in this photo, it's a school photo, badly faded. The shirt is red with white polka dots and the vest, (with matching pants I remember), is a light denim.
Used: All Stampin' Up except the blue sunflower which is a digi by Priscillastyles that I colored with Sharpie markers. Check out the Crafter's Digital Art Center to see more fantastic uses of Digital Images.
Trying to keep up with the big things, the little things, and having lots of fun along the way!

MMSC scrapbook sketch
This isn't my favorite photo, but it was taken at the same time as one from the 'Cutie' layout. It's another cute 'pose', looks like my girl is holding the umbrella. This is actually on the other side of the 'Cutie' page. I followed the sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 110. I was actually done with it last night; I know Tuesday, right? Heehe I only get challenges done that fast in the summer. Thanks for the visit!

Cutie
My latest scrap book page is my dd, (who else?). Can you believe that first picture? She is 3.5 months old, the photographer just happened to catch the little 'diva' at the right instant! She is very photogenic, as you can see below, with her big 'brother', (BFF's brother by blood). The products are a hodge podge of brands, mostly Stampin' Up. No challenges.

Tommy
My 3rd scrapbook page following the Our Daily Bread Designs Let Your Light Shine Scrapbook Challenge week 3. This is my dear daddy as a little boy, and this picture shows a look that I've seen on my brother's face and my nephew's face a few times. I've used 'Grow In Grace', by ODBD. I stamped the flower image in caramel and stamped the scripture over it in black ink.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!!!

Mom & Dad
Hi all, it's been rainy the last 2 days, so I've been migraine-y, (I know it's not a word, but it should be 'cause I use it all the time). This picture and supplies have been on my desk so I finally put it together. I didn't do it for a challenge and didn't look for one to enter. Anyway.....This is a sweet picture of my parents, dressed for Halloween. I'm not sure when it was, but I'm guessing she was 16 and he was 19 and it was around 1960/61. They were married in 1963 and I was born in 1966, (she was 21). It works. OK so, I used Stampin' Up Simply Scrapin' Kit, (retired years ago). The kit worked for the feeling I wanted....young love and fun.
Thanks for visiting!

Grandma & Grandpa
My second entry into the Our Daily Bread Designs Let Your Light Shine challenge, week 2. I went with the same vintage look as last week. This is a great challenge for me, I'm getting so many photos scraped. This is a pic of my grandparents at Christmas time. No date on it though. I used ODBD 'Ornaments' stamp set with Spellbinders dies. I purchased them as a bundle last year, (love the ODBD bundles). I used 3 die sizes but only one stamp image, all are on dimensionals I'll be making more tags and decorations with this gorgeous set again this year.
I used lace, which is hard to see under my watermark, and several strips of border punched pieces so that I could add this to the Hotspot challenge. This also goes helps it to go with last weeks page. The beautiful lace is from McMahon Five Designs, (also used on my first entry page HERE).
See the doodling around the journal ornament? That qualifies for the Stampin' Sisters In Christ challenge.
I really hit the jackpot of challenges with this page didn't I? Now I just need to find a challenge looking for 'distressed' (I sponged with brown ink), or 'vintage', heehee.
On a personal note....
My dear daughter just called to tell me she was at the ocean, and I could hear the waves. She and her bestie had to buy matching sweatshirts, hers is red and Jacq's is white. Silly girls. If you don't know already, my 16 y/o went to CA with her best friend and their grandmother. They are staying with family for 3 weeks. We miss her around here, but she calls & texts often enough.
Have a great week everyone!!!

Butterfly Wishes Scrapbook Page
Everything on this page, except the card stock base, is from the Craft's Meow Kit called 'Butterfly Kisses' by Sarah Martina Parker. I tried to follow her directions for a card using these items and basically my page has the same sketch and same components. All of the butterflies are fussy cut from the stamped image in the set. The Butterfly Fairy and the title, "Butterfly Kisses' are also in the stamp set, from the kit. Here is the card, the right rear:
The gorgeous designer papers are from Graphic 45 'Once Upon A Springtime' collection.

Grace Scrap Book Page
I've got another scrap book page to share tonight. The idea for this came from the Our Daily Bread Designs, Let Your Light Shine Monthly Challenge, which is a sketch this week. I am really trying to get scrap book pages completed and shifting away from card making has been a challenge in itself. I used my favorite ODBD set 'Grow in Grace', the vertical verse, the flower, and pieces of the flower were fussy cut and punched. I really like how this came out. It's a picture of 'Uncle Frank and Aunt Myrtle'. I'm not exactly sure who they are but they sure look happy!!! The color inspiration came from the ColourQ 88 challenge:

VBS Silly
Here's a scrap book page with pic of my daughter's head photoshopped into a surfing scene. She is in the summer before her 8th grade year, here. I guess as a vacation bible school volunteer you have to put up with some crazy stuff.
It took me forever to get this thing put together! I wanted to use my 'Fancy Fins' digi stamp by McMahon Five Designs, and I thought of this photo. 'Fancy' is colored with SU marker, and her white center is covered in Stickles. I fussy cut all of the other fish from a vellum cut out book by Hot Off the Press, which I have had for years. That's it for today, it feels good to get something posted. Thanks for looking and please let me know what you think.

Heat Wave
It's National Scrapping Day and I just happened to make a page last night. I started out with the ColorQ challenge:
Pretty yummy, right?
Then I decided to skip the designer paper and go with the Stampin' Sisters In Christ challenge "no dp". You need to read Marilynn's devotional in order to really understand the challenge. It is so much more than not using dp. Thanks Marilynn it is a perfect analogy, so enjoyable to read!
I am also going to enter the SRM NSD Challenge today even though I only used one sticker, 'heat wave'.
Thanks for visiting with me today, please let me know what you think of my page.

Laurel's Birthday
Good Afternoon! I have a project today with an image from Delicious Doodles. I have been wanting to use one of Teri's images, and finally have, with this freebie she is giving away at CraftersDigitalArtCenter. Head over and join the CDAC community, then sign up to be in Teri's, Delicious Doodles group. You can find this monthly freebie there. Gorgeous cake, don't you agree?
As my regular followers know, I have been trying to get scrapbook pages completed. It's nice to have these photos, both grandma's have passed now. Actually, they are Laural's (our niece), great grandmothers.
Thanks for the visit!

A Birthday
This page came about while I was planing on doing the challenge at, There's Magic In The Air/with Paper Cupcakes. Well, the challenge was to use at least 3 designer papers. I never got to that, as you can see. This is my little brothers b-day layout. A little series of him getting a gun, holster, and cowboy hat. I love how 'happy' this came out! Here is where you can find Nina's Birthday Hat Cupcake in her store, Paper Cupcakes. Thanks for the visit!

8 1/2" Page
I didn't create any challenge projects today. I rearranged a few pages, added tidbits, and added a few pages to a scrapbook. This is one of the pages I added. Pretty simple. Pretty boring.
I did want you to take a look and click over to Paper Cupcakes, to find out about the sketch blog hop they have coming up, sounds like a lot of fun!!! See my sidebar.
thanks for visiting and thank you all who left love, prayers and thoughts for our family and Sarah's family-

Friendship Page
We lost my daughter's friend a week ago Saturday. It was tragic, an auto accident. Sarah was chubby back when they were 11. She was a swimmer, and slimmed down during 8th grade and during their freshman year. They didn't 'hang out' much last year, she with swimmers, my dd with soccer players. However, last summer and throughout this year they were together for confirmation education. My Margaret knows Sarah's faith was strong and that Sarah is safe now. We morn for ourselves, her parents and her sisters. Thank you for keeping Sarah's family in your prayers.

Maddy's Teapot

A scrapbook page using the colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge #102.

12 x 12 Page
I got another page done by following the The Color Room Palette #11. I find so much inspiration here! I know my pages will get better and faster the more I create. I just piled on the flowers; paper ones, felt, and punched. The sparkle comes from Stickles. Can you see my Layers of Color Art Stamps? The leaves around the white flower and the four, hand colored flowers in the middle. They are from the set, "Flowering Gems". And...the 2 big white flowers came in the mail yesterday, along with a belated birthday card. All from my dear friend Sabrina, isn't she the sweetest??? They're hand made the flowers, too, btw. Thanks Sabrina!

Framed Scrap Book Page
Here is the challenge, STVABCKK1. Karen Knegten is the new hostess for the next three months. I didn't think I would do this one, but why not showcase a scrapbook page for a while? I used creamy caramel, certainly celery, and a small oval of very vanilla card stock, (SU). I stamped the old time looking fruit/veg ads, (SU), and Rupa Shevde's row boat from "guiding light", (GKD), in chocolate chip.
My grandmother was a farm girl, and a tomboy! I miss my grandma, she was a very special part of my life, we even named our one and only after her.

The End
No internet yesterday after school or evening. No cable either. I didn't do any paper crafting and couldn't up load my last page as promised. After dinner we watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. It was really nice, we were all in the same room, hubby wasn't working on his lap top. :D No school today, so while DD slept in I worked on some things around the house. I made a card and just fooled around. Yipee!
This is the last page in my layout.
