Happy Monday!

Hello all! Today's Happy Monday Challenge is a sketch. I turned mine on it's side so that I could use this adorable ducky image. This is a new image from Deedee's Digis called, Flowers For Thought. I just love this sentiment don't you?!?

What I did:
Split Coast Stampers has the tutorial with a video that I followed for the Drawer Box. My uber talented friend, Kristine Breach has a tutorial for a 4 Drawer Easel Card, which is has been in the back of my mind for a loooog time.  I Finally did it Kris!!! Between the 2 tutorials this is what I came up with.

Happy Saint Pat's!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! I made up these book marks, with scraps and Deedee's Digis, Irish Blessing and Lucky Teddy. Each set comes with several sentiments. I used giant paperclips and sticky strip to attach. The backs are also covered for a clean look.  See you tomorrow for our big hop, don't miss it!

Wildflower Wall Hanging

I tired something a little different today. Stampin' Sisters in Christ asked us to use something we treasured, and..... The very lovely Linda Lucas is our challenge hostess this week. 

Scripture: Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

Okay on to my card, umm, project....

I would say that I treasure this image that I colored a while back. I've tried to use it several times, but just kept hanging on to it. The yarn has also been in my stash for years! The image and sentiment are from Deedee's Digis and colored with Koh-i-noor pure color pencils. I'm not sure who I will give it to, but for now it's on my wall in my studio. Hee, hee.

ETA: thanks for the new SSIC challenge blinky, Kris! I love it!

Diamond Dust Ornament

One more Ornament photograph. I colored this one with pastels and then stamped Versa Mark over it and diamond dust glitter embossing powder, then eat it up and wah lah, done! Stamp and ornament nestie from Our Daily Bread designs. ETA-oops! I don't eat it up, I heat it up!!!

Santa Tag

I really like how this came out. I used the Santa stamp image from Shelly's Images. Isn't he awesome?? The glasses really make the man. The photography washes him out a bit, hard to see his lightly blushed cheeks, (pastels). I used liquid applique for his beard and eyebrows. I also added blue pastels to his eye lids. The hat, lips and glasses are colored with marker. The ball of his hat is a jingle so I added chunky silver glitter.

New Year's Eve Angel

Hi Everyone! This 'New Year's Eve Angel', is made following the Free Paper Angel Class at Crafter's Digital Art Center given by Carol Hurlock, visit her at, Chocolate, Crafts, and Bears, Oh My. I finished just in time, the class ends December 31! 

I decided on using stamped wings, from the Layers of Color Art Stamps set, 'Regal Wings'. There are so many ways to make the angels, go check them out at CDAC, just scroll down to the slide show. Become a member if you aren't already, quick and easy.

Pretty in pink and red

This is a deco or tag that I made before Christmas, and then gave away. I am home and have some time to post it now. It is colored in rose red and handsome hunter using watercolor wonder crayons from SU. The image is from Designed 2 Delight. The die cut for the ornament is from Our Daily Bread Designs. I had a blast with this image and with this ornament die cut. I gave several away at Christmas but have a few left to photograph and upload. Thanks for visiting! I'm planing to get back to crafting and challenges with the new year.

Layered

I used all five of the 'Heirloom Ornament' dies by Spellbinder on this. First I stamped the smaller ornament from Our Daily Bread Designs 'Ornaments' set, five times on blue card stock. I die cut each image and then added stickles and let them dry. I layered the shapes using foam tape to raise them up. Click on either link to get the Ornament bundle at ODBD. Our Daily Bread Designs Order Came!!!

Woo hoo! I ordered the 'Ornaments' bundle from ODBD on Wednesday last week, Dec 1, and got my order today. I sat right down and, following Angie's tutorial, made this beauty. Cup of Cocoa (or coffee)

Hey friends! I finished something crafty that I am actually okay with. I didn't like anything I made this week, it all went into the trash can. Everything I touched seemed to fall apart or smear or something unpleasant happened to it. This is my second 2-5-7-10 box, I left the flap off, don't ask....It's a simple gift box made with the Designed2Delight 'Christmas Cocoa' image. Here is a close up of the candy cane, so you can see a bit of the sparkle of the stickles I used in X-mas red and star dust.

Simply Spooky

This is my first Simply Betty Stamps, image. Isn't she beautiful? I've crafted her into a bookmark for myself or for my daughter. This was a freebie image given at Crafter's Digital Art Center. Thanks for visiting!

Want Snow? Not Really!

Okay, I really don't want it to snow. Snow is alright, but the loooong, dark days of cold temperatures are what I don't like. Anyway, I love this snowman and quote by Deedee's Digi's, and have been wanting to use it for quite sometime now.  Over at Crafting With Deedee's Digi's, the challenge is along the lines of back to school. Use the Primary School Crayon Colors, you know, the box of eight fat crayons.

My tag is blue and orange, colored with all eight of the colors. I added 3 brads for his buttons and used some twine type yarn for the tag hanger. I also used a Versamark pen and added micro pearl, Pearl-ex to the snow and snowman.. Of course you really can't see that.

A Joyful Ride

This tag is for the challenge at There's Magic In The Air, which is to use this image from Paper CupCakes, and get out your punches. I used a corner rounder, 2 circle, and flower punches. I traced a large tag, cut it out, and adhered the image panel. The color medium is markers. A ribbon was punched and a brad added to the top of the tag. Here's the little purse I learned how to make at Shelly's Images Blog. Follow the Tuesday Technique tutorial from yesterday. I didn't have the chocolate on hand so you'll have to go check it out there.This is a super easy project to make, for a quickie, "opps I forgot"!  I just can't keep the chocolate in my house. I will be adding the same ribbon along the top of the flap, it looks bare. ETA-I fixed it, much better!

First Snowman of the Year!

A bookmark, little wall or door hanging. I'm thinking most likely a bookmark, but if I give it to my daughter it will end up on her bedroom wall. :-)  This guy was drawn by Faith at Designed to Delight. The heart is a giant faux button, which I learned to make here, at Not Such a Plain Jane. Thanks Jane it was easy to follow you and turned out to be a lot of fun! Acrylic Bookmark

This acrylic bookmark is an idea/challenge from Karen at StampTV. I wanted my coffee pot to be "glass" in the middle, so I tried something different. Usually this is not a good idea, but it turned out all right. It never comes out the way it is in my head, kwim? I really like this idea for a book mark. I would also like to try stamping with Staz-On, (which I did here), then coloring didrectly with Copics, (no card stock). I tried this method with Sharpies and it just didn't work out, I had a lot of streaks. My very basic bookmark goes in to this challenge: stvabckk8.

Gift Box

I have made this box for Karen's "Anything But a Card" challenge at StampTV. Check this out at STVABCKK4. Karen has posted a tutorial for the box, and it is so simple to do!!! This is a good size to have on hand, and I plan on making more. This one is very CAS. No stamps, just card stock, dp, ribbon, and punches. Oh, and a Signo white gel pen.


Below is the box opened up with the lid propped, so you can see that the inside is pretty too.



THE PLAY DATE CAFE
I discovered this site the other day, and it really looks like a fun place to hang out. You all know how much I love a color challenge! The colors that I used are: bashful blue, purely pomegranate, and sahara sand by Stampin' Up.

Framed Scrap Book Page

I was thinking about starting a scrapbook page when I came across this picture of my grandmother, it was do darn cute! Then I remembered that the anything but a card challenge at StampTV, was a framed piece, so I made it to fit a frame I had on hand. It took me very little time, but it does what it needs to.

Here is the challenge, STVABCKK1. Karen Knegten is the new hostess for the next three months. I didn't think I would do this one, but why not showcase a scrapbook page for a while? I used creamy caramel, certainly celery, and a small oval of very vanilla card stock, (SU). I stamped the old time looking fruit/veg ads, (SU), and Rupa Shevde's row boat from "guiding light", (GKD), in chocolate chip.

My grandmother was a farm girl, and a tomboy! I miss my grandma, she was a very special part of my life, we even named our one and only after her.
