Snowflakes, snowflakes, everywhere!

I am disappointed with the way this card photographed, "dull", compared with the real thing. This is a sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #36. It was a bit of a challenge for me this week. I also followed the StampTV color challenge #stvccsb07, monochromatic. The theme of my card comes from the Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential #14 , "snowflakes gone wild". My snowflakes and sentiment circle are heat embossed with clear embossing powder and a bit of blue pearl ex. I love that stuff! There is a bit of sponging on the bashful blue card stock, with bashful blue and brilliant blue inks. The embossed flakes are much more shinny irl. Thanks for viewing my card!

First of all, thank you to all who have commented so kindly on my posts. I have been blogging since March 7, 2009, and in that time have gotten to know so many of you fine women. I enjoy your comments and commenting on your posts. I don't get as many cards done as I would like, but...you know, work and family... Just wanted you to know I appreciate each and every one of you!!!

Trio of Treats

This is the first of my trio. I made 3 triangle treat boxes, using Carolyn King's tutorial at Split Coast Stampers here. I can never get the bottom of the box to work/fit so I make sure my treat holds itself in the box. LOL! Having no treats to put in it, this is it on it's own. Mouthful of words there. I'm behind, my internet was out for a while, so that's it for now. I'll post the rest tomorrow.
Supplies:
card stock: ruby red, glorious green, whisper white (SU)
dp: unknown (SU)
ink: ruby red, glorious green (SU)

Sounding familiar?

Happy Star

Well, the first shot is pretty good except the hook slid over. The second shot is a close up after I straightened it out. This is my red, green, and gold color challenge from Shannon, who is the first 3 month hostess at StampTV. Yea Shannon, congratulations! Find her challenge, here. The fantastic sketch is from CPS this week, isn't it great?? Find it here: CPS145

I used for my red-Purely Pomegranate (SU)
green-Handsome Hunter (SU)
gold-Metallic(SU)
I also used Pure Luxury White (GKD)
Happy Holidays, from Holiday Cheer StampTV kit, is stamped in Purely Pom, while the bulb, from the same kit, is stamped in Handsome Hunter.
I also used a Cuttlebug and folder along with some punches to add shape. A brad and piece of gold wire are used to finish off the card.

Joy

I made this card last year and didn't use it, wasn't sure if I liked it. Non-traditional colors and all. Decided I do like it, so I made the inside today. Let me know if you like it, thanks! Love hearing from you all.

Gingerbread House

The outside and inside of a very CAS card. It took me 2 days to complete it. Why you ask? I kept smudging the Stickles!!! I've been fighting the dreaded cold and have been to tired. This started out as a card for the StampTV Sketch challenge 40. It still qualifies, somewhat. It was for the StampTV Color challenge, STVCCSB01. The colors are red, green, and gold. The brown is a little too prominant in my sample. So I end up with a cute card anyway!

SUPPLIES
card stock: metallic gold, whisper white, old olive textured (SU)
dp: holiday treasures (SU)
ink: chocolate chip (SU)
stamp sets: holiday cheer and holiday greetings stv kit (gina k designs)
other: xmas red and icicle Stickles, Stampin' write markers, circle punch

Holly Branch

Card Positioning Systems card above
Stamp TV//La-La Land card below

I made the card above for the StampTV color challenge-green and ivory only. While I was coloring the berries, I realized red was not green or ivory, was it? Note that this greeting is for the holiday season. I decided to just make another card like it without the red berries and bow. I combined The STVCC39, with the CPS142 for the sketch. I also decided to do the La-La Land, LLWC13-Thankful challenge. The card below is the result of the combo. Note this greeting is a thank you. I think I should have cuttlebugged the sage shadow panel on the card below, as above. Otherwise I like them both!
La-La Land Blog candy!!! Just participate in this LLWC13 challenge like I did and you could win these goodies.

Holiday Wreath

I'm back with a card based on Gina's video, How to use it-Glaze pens. I don't have a Sakura Glaze Pen, and wanted to make this card. Everyone wants one now and Gina K is sold out of the clear right now. I can wait. I used Crystal Effects from SU, which has a small tip. My poor photo editing skills don't allow you to see the glaze effect anyway. UGH!

Friend Tree

I haven't done a scrap book page in forever! I also haven't finished a StampTV challenge in quite a while. This is my entry for the STVSCR37 challenge. Check out the challenge, you could win a prize. This is one of those photo's you get in your Christmas card from far away friends. I decided to scrapbook them instead of leaving them in my photo box. I tell a little story of my mom and her best friend's legacy. I'll be adding more on a forthcoming companion page. Thanks for stopping by!

Bright Reindeer

This card is for the CPS140 challenge today. I'm trying to get back on track with the challenges I love to do. Just a little distressing can be seen on the top and bottom of the dusty durango and ink distress on the white panel. I don't send a lot of cards at Christmas, so mass production isn't a priority for me. I like individual cards for individual people! :-]

First try using Metallic Rub-On Paste

My card is inspired by this StampTV technique video, by Gina K.. I didn't have a Sakura Stardust Pen, so I thought I might use my Metallic Rub-On paste. I watched this How to Use it! video on StampTV. I applied Colonial first, but it needed a little more, or so I thought. I added Deep Gold paste, and I think I used a little too much. I haven't felt the creative bug in a week, so I'm going with it, and posting it!! Thanks for checking it out!

dp: none
ink: real red (SU)
stamp sets: holiday greetings, Stamp TV Kit (GKD)
